google voice on 3g/edge

I have google voice. And the quality is excellent but im on a non data plan so I can't check it out in 3g. I live in a t-mobile edge zone so I want to know about the voice quality & reliability cause I'm planning on getting a nexus with a t-mobile data only plan.

Will it be like a regular phone call or will I have poor quality?

Google Voice doesn't travel on Data frequencies. It uses regular call frequencies.
Hence, why GV uses your minutes while you use it.
So if you calls sound clear now, they should sound clear then.
Unless the Nexus has poor call quality.

Right now, Google voice works by using your current cell service and the call is routed through your GV number. On the Nexus One, you won't have regular cell service, and your calls will be made with VOIP, so the data coverage will be important. I haven't looked into using my GV over voip (dunno if its possible yet) to test the quality.

didn't Google purchace Gizmo5? They're going to have full VOip now right? I thought all the craze about the Nexusone was that it would side step the minute and text plans.

Edit: Oh okay its not testable yet? I was thinking of getting a data plan early before they raised the rates but that'd be a bad idea if the call quality isn't known yet.

GV is not VOIP. I don't know how to make this any more clear. The speculation on the Nexus One being data-only is just that: speculation.
