For some reason no one I ask has ever heard of this so I thought I'd post it here just in case others don't know about it. To me it's a much better way of voice dictation.
Normally when you use the Google keyboard or in my case SwiftKey to use voice dictation it types what you say on the fly. If there are any errors then you can touch the individual word and hope that it has the correct suggestion pop up. If it doesn't you have to manually correct it.
If you go into settings, language and input, h
On screen keyboard, then manage keyboards, you'll see a selection that says Google Voice typing with the word automatic underneath it. Turn this option off. When I first saw the option I thought this would just turn voice dictation off but I was wrong.
Now go to a text field and hold down the microphone to start voice dictation on whatever keyboard you're using. Then just wait a second and it will pop up with a list of five different sentences. You can then scan through the list and select which one is the most accurate and when you touch it it will automatically enter it into the text field. To me this is much faster than the own the fly voice detection and that usually gets things right at least 99% of the time.
Has anyone else tried this and if so do you like it? I'm just curious in other people's opinions because it seems to be a hidden feature. Once I started using it I could never go back to the old way.
