Google Voice Visual Voicemail slow to show up

Ive been using google voice just for the voicemail capabilities since I got my incredible. I have been noticing an issue where I do not receive notification of a new voicemail right away. I'm talking about hours, not a few minutes. There was actually one instance where I didn't get the notification until the next day.

In the sync and notification settings, I have it set to synchronize inbox, I have background data enabled, and I have Inbox notifications checked off. Is there something that I am missing? It seems that google voice is not pushing the message to my phone.

google voice can be extremely spotty at times. more than once i've had notifications show up hours or days late. its only occasional, and 95% of the time it works fine. try enabling wifi and doing a manual sync.

I find the push extreamly laggy but the email noiications are imediate as are the noificatoons on the PC
