Google won't Sync

hi,

i am having problem syncing my google account on my htc hero. i cleared the cache files from the "Manage Applications" and when I tried to enter my user name and password, it just won't sync. any idea?

appreciate any help!

So it now prompts you to enter a new Google account but it fails when you click submit? Or are you saying you have successfully signed into a new Google Account but it will not sync your contacts etc?

Thanks for your reply and sorry for the confusion. I actually mean that after entering my username and password, it won't connect. Anyway, I couldn't wait for an answer here so I reset the phone to factory defaults. After that, it started working again.
