Google?

In hindsight if you're on any Android device you'll going to go through Googles API no matter what browser that you use and it's no way around it unless you're using a private server.
 
I have unsubscribed from Facebook and Twitter. I still enjoy YouTube, but was wondering if I can access it if I no longer used Google and is that even possible on my android? Duck Duck Go doesn't keep all of your info like a police state ready to pounce. No I don't use unseemly websites, I just hate us losing all of our privacy. We're becoming commodities or worse instead of humans. Thanks for your help.
 
You don't need to have a Google account to access Youtube, but without one there are going to be limitations..
 
No, I'm not interested in corporate law. Lol. I just want to watch the channels I subscribe to on YouTube and want toa uninstall Google. Please let me know how to do that. I don't download any videos on cats, but do love videos about Goldendoodles. Ours passed away this past Christmas Eve and we still miss him. Lots going on in our lives right now so we're not getting another one for awhile. Would like a mini-doodle next. They are a medium size as opposed to the standard Goldendoodle. If anyone ever thinks about getting a dog that is fantastic breed; loves you dearly; is smart; and a wonderful companion, I highly recommend Goldendoodles. Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
 
If your subscription is based on a YouTube account (i.e. Google) then obviously you would need to be logged in to use that (when I say I've never logged in with YouTube I also mean I've never subscribed to anything, so don't know how that works). Of course you can search YouTube and bookmark URLs without a Google login. You can log out in the Android YouTube app and still use it, but it's likely to log you in automatically when you start it up if you aren't careful (and if you have a Google account on the device - some models are easier to use without one than others).

To use the Play Store you do need a Google account, but it can be one you create just for that purpose and don't use for anything else.
 
That limited functionality I was talking about ... without an account, I'm not sure if you can subscribe to channels.

If I bring home any more dogs, the wife will tie a pork chop to me (not around my neck, either) and throw me out there with them at supper time. ;)

I know several people who have G-Doodles, but they are too laid-back for me. I prefer a hyperactive ball of fur. :D

 
You made my day lunatic59. Hilarious, but an image that's now hard to get out of my mind. We certainly don't want your wife to do that to you.
