Googlemail to Gmail - fixed by Google

Hi all,

Apologies if this has already been posted.

Google have fixed the problem for UK users changing from a Googlemail to a Gmail email address. If you read their FAQ, it now states that most Google apps should work fine, but Talk may take a day to start working.

I also found this with Market. It was very slow at first (I changed yesterday) but today Market is working as normal.

Finally there is no need to do a factory reset on your phone to fix the previous issues. :)

Seem to remember people were having problems accessing the apps market or at least it being in sync with their installed apps.

The part of the FAQ that refers to Android has changed. I had tried a few weeks ago and Market wouldn't work afterwards. It now works fine. Of course, it still shows googlemail.com on the phone, not gmail.

I got a googlemail account bout a week ago. I registered as googlemail.com but then on the mail page it asked if i wanted to migrate to gmail.com. I did and now everywhere including my phone im known as a gmail.com account user :P
