Benson is Google's go-to guy when it comes to USB Type-C compliance and he is not happy with how OnePlus has handled the spec over the last 2 years.
Since the OnePlus 3, at least in its current form, does not support Android's USB host in the correct way, then you can run into issues where the it will not recognize certain peripherals at all.
