Google's new FREE phone information service ---

Here is something you will want to have and use ! I still remember when the telephone company charged $1.50 to get a phone number from information !

My compliments to Google !

Just leave it up to Google to come up with something like this!!!

Here's a number worth putting in your cell phone, or your home phone speed dial: 1-800-goog411. This is an awesome service from Google, and it's free -- great when you are on the road.

Don't waste your money on information calls and don't waste your time manually dialing the number. I am driving along in my car and I need to call the golf course and I don't know the number. I hit the speed dial for information that I have programmed.

The voice at the other end says, "City & State." I say, " Garland , Texas ." He says, "Business, Name or Type of Service." I say, Firewheel Golf Course." He says, "Connecting" and Firewheel answers the phone. How great is that? This is nationwide and it is absolutely free!

Click on the link below and watch the short clip for a quick demonstration.

ALSO: Non-Google, but FREE: 800-373-3411

ya this has been up since a year or two ago. Just something that wasn't very publicly announced.

goog411 has been on speed dial on my last three cell phones. Yes, it's great. What's even better is when you can dial it through a BT kit and lookup numbers hands-free.

What a great service. Now they are recording each call, are they using it to gather info see how people use the service?

I asked for some difficult business names and a difficult to pronounce city and it found it, they had to ask me to repeat the city and state, but it worked great. Trying to figure out why Google created it, I am sure they want to monetize it, maybe charging to business to be included...down the road...just wondering out loud.

Wow thats great. I've never heard of Goog411 before so thanks for posting this. I don't use 411 too much simply because I'd rather not pay the charge and just try and find what I need online, yellowpages, etc, but if its free why not?
