gophone and wifi tethering

has anyone been able to successfully tether (wifi hotspot) their phone using att gophone prepaid plans?

i just got a nokia lumia 520 with a $60 plan, but when i try to enable internet sharing it says "you need to enable tethering on this phone, go to att.com...."

i mostly got this thinking i could make a hotspot for my tablet

any success on this?
