Help Gorrilla glass

Gorilla has become the Bose of glass heh

tis very nice though.

Just remember, sand = glass = can scratch gorilla glass

otherwise most anything wont scratch it, even metal. You should see my nexus one. it's scratched all to heck on everywhere but the glass because i keey keys and a metal money clip in the same pocket.

But my Droid 1 got into a pocket with a grain of sand and has one unfortunate scratch on it :S

I wish I thought about this before I took my phone to my outdoor volleyball tournament! You better believe that my new Galaxy will come no where close to those sand courts!! :D

Gorilla Glass is scratch proof (That's what they claim) but it will break as seen on the photos submitted. I think this unit were drop on it's edge, that's why the glass broke. Hay if you hold an egg on it edges and press you won't be able to break it, however drop it and that is another case.

I have the LTE tab, so I have insurance thru Verizon (or whatever the company is they use) including accidental damage. For anyone that doesn't have the LTE, I would highly suggest an aftermarket insurance policy- that's alotta cash to risk. :(

You will pay so much money for the insurance over the year or two that you could afford nother tablet - pointless.

I agree. I used to use SquareTrade alot but their prices have risen beyond what I would consider reasonable. I got my Galaxy Tab new off eBay for $530. When I went to SquareTrade the bill came to $150, even with a 30% off coupon. That's close to 1/3 of what I paid for the device. Also taking into consideration how quickly electronics depreciate, that seems too much for me.

Then again, if I had dropped it the next day, it would've seemed like a bargain!

Exactly. It depends on how much cash you ahve around and how important the tab is to you. I pay $10/month for my insurance- that's not that much in the long run. If I dropped my Tab tomorrow there's no way I can afford to buy a new one, I'd be screwed, since I count on having it for travel.

I should add that I almost never buy warranties- but when this is such a big chunk of cash (for me anyway) I will. It helps to pay per month too, I might've made a different decision if I had to pay up front.

I have a rider on homeowners that costs 7.00/yr. It has a 100.00 ded but it covers all my computers. So my GT10.1 screen repair was only 100.00. Not too bad for $7.

I would wonder if certain types of Renter's insurance may also cover things like this -- good tip, thanks :)
