GoSMS Pro & Contact photos question

rambler75

Newbie
I installed Go SMS pro yesterday and really like it, with the exception of one small issue. Is there a way to select a custom image for notifications of new SMS? I found where you can change to the pre-loaded images in the SMS pro app...but no option found for selecting. What I want is when I receive a text from one of my contacts, for it to display the contact photo when it lights up my screen on my phone, and not the Go SMS logo. I've been using a program called NO LED to do this when I was using the stock app on my Samsung Galaxy S2.

Also, I don't synch my Facebook contacts with my phone, I believe this is one option, but one I'm not interested in. I want custom photos I choose from my phone for my contacts to display on a per contact basis. Thanks for any help

I don't think that's possible for GO SMS. However, Full Screen Caller ID can do that in conjunction with any SMS app.

I do this all the time in GOSMS. Open the picture that you want to use, then select menu -> set as -> contact icon. It opens your contacts and you can navigate to the appropriate contact.

This ^^^

Just open the picture you want to use in gallery or what ever picture app you use. In gallery...

1. Select the picture.
2. Press the menu option either on screen or the menu key.
3. Select the more option.
4. Choose set as
5. Choose contact icon.
6. Choose contacts.
7. Select appropriate contact.
8. Crop picture as wanted
9. Select save disc icon at the top right of the screen.
10. Rinse and repeat.

nvm. Misread

EDIT. I'm not sure if I misread the OP. I think he wants it that whenever someone sends him/her a message, he wants the notification icon to be a picture of the person. The instructions you gave him just puts a contact photo, which should already be there in GO SMS if you had contact photos in the phonebook in the first place.
