Help Got the i1 but need net alerts - help

Bought this phone for work and need to get net alerts. Nextel says the i1 does not support net alerts. Is there an app that can make this possible?

I vaguely remembered "net alerts" from when I first got my i730, but they sucked so bad that I had to look them up just now:

Yep, you got it. If you're phone is MMS capable (they all have been since the i860 I believe), then texts come and go as MMS messages. Why do they do it this way? That's the million dollar question.

And if it's a non-MMS phone you get a "net alert" and then visit a WAP site for your messaging.

I haven't explored the text messaging functions of my i1 yet -- I've been too busy enjoying its real email. But MMS has gotta be in there somewhere, and you shouldn't need the old "net alert" mechanism.

Yes I see now hahaha! You have email now buddy use teh email. I was thinking to myself "wtf is a net alert does he mean like teh notifications?"

BTW, I finally got around to trying text messaging on the i1 -- it's of course done via the "Messaging" app. Whatever you got via net alerts on your old phone, you should get this way now. Although email is still better, AFAICT (the MMS is slow!).
