gps not working properly after deleting files

after deleting the txt files on the sd card on my samsung galaxy y. (the
files in gps folder in sd card) the gps is not functioning properly and could not lockon to my location. after refreshing " my location" on gmap, latitude etc, instead of refreshing and displaying my new location, it displays my old location.

should i format all the system files on sd card and factory reset. as i least want to do it

help needed urgently plzz - android rookie

I would not think that the GPS functions would have any presence on your SD card but I am not certain on this. Before a factory reset I would suggest checking in this area at Android Forums.
