Help GPS stopped working

My GPS has saved me plenty of times. It has worked great over the last 1.5 years. All of a sudden last week I could not get a signal and again yesterday the gps would not "fix" even after 1 hour of trying. I have searched online and found some solutions but they don't seem to apply to my galaxy s phone since it is from US Cellular. My phone is called the "Mesmerize".

Can anyone help me out with this?

Have you tried a hard reset... Or a gps test app? Like gps status?

Samsung i9000 have a decent gps. Sometimes I have problems with gps
