GPS tracking for wearables is about to "Get Really Good"

I foresee this being installed in our regular cellphones "Very Soon Now"....

in the battle for Lower Power Drain, I just cannot see the manufacturers of cellphones ignoring this new IC that can provide celestial type navigation with 1 meter accuracy over 100 yards of travel, even if you are walking thru a tunnel. Or, you are working all day in an Office Building with no GPS sats viewable at all.

And for the wrist watch devices? oh, this will be a terrific boon for them.

I also see Garmin switching over to this device, simply because of the ability to continue to be accurate when driving through extremely long tunnels, or in extremely bad weather when the sats are occluded and the GPS becomes useless.... how often have you seen your Car GPS display "Satellite Signal Lost" ??

Never. Unless I'm in the automatic car wash. In that enclosure (or maybe my garage), I don't have GPS signal. But in those few instances, I really don't need GPS to tell me where I am, either :p
