Great keyboard

I have hated the stock keyboard since day one. I even tried Swype and I'm just not a fan. I have fat thumbs. I came from a phone that had a keyboard similar to a blackberry...so I just could not get comfortable with this phone over the last 2 months.

Until today...

The Keyboard from Android 2.3 by Steven Lin is EXCELLENT. It is accurate, it has great spacing and well...it's free. The paid version is only .99 and I'm considering the upgrade just for the extra options.

I also tried Better Keyboard and Vlingo...they just don't compare. So, if you are like me and gave up on trying to type on your Optimus...try "Keyboard from Android 2.3"

I can actually text again!!!!!

A capacitive stylus works well for me on the standard keyboard. I know it's another thing to carry around but to me it's worth it.

Search "keyboard from android 2.3" in the market place. There is a trial and a free version.

Its ok but the voice key on the side wont work with it.

Does anybody know of a good keyboard that has a "Hide Keyboard" key? My Evo has a button that lets me hide the keyboard when I don't need it, but I haven't found a good one for use on my Optimus...

If the keyboard is up and you don't want to use it just hit the back arrow button on the bottom of the phone.

I'm aware of that.
If I wanted to use speech to text....why wouldn't I just call them?!
It is essentially the same thing. Talk to text ... talk on phone. You're still TALKING

That's all I'm saying.
