I've been using it since forever and can't function without it. I do use Calengoo too, it pulls from Google and has a lot more features and great widgets.
Same here. It's the stock Android calendar that is one of the first things the manufacturers seem to replace in their customizations. I would hardly call it an improvement.
Yes, I wouldn't call most manufacturers' replacements an improvement. There are other calendar apps out there that I think do improve on it in some respects, but none that I consider perfect or that I think improves in all respects.
The result is that I have several calendar apps (including this one), many of them just for specific purposes (e.g. when I need to set a reminder on a read-only event, or need to create an irregular sequences of repeating events, or because I like a particular widget it offers). I would dearly love to find one that covered all of my essential requirements and did everything else well enough that I could just lose the others, but I've almost given up hope (and if I ever did I'm sure some bigger company would buy it up and either discontinue it or turn it into spamware!).
But at least I know my next phone will have this as my stock app, so I won't have a manufacturer app that I don't use at all included .
I've approached it somewhat differently. I have several calendars that I sync to different endpoints, but mostly linked back to my Google calendar. I have a few outlook calDav plugins that sync my calendars across devices and platforms so if I set an appointment at work it shows up on my phone without having Exchange installed, and vice versa.
