group chat help

hey guys,

I am trying to setup group chat/mms so i can chat with my friends who have iphones and htc. I read that handcent and gosms pro can do this. However, when i send an outgoing message it send in a group, but their replies come back in the seperate individual user threads. i have the option checked for group mms, but its still not working. Please help!

Personally I use GroupME for all my group chatting needs. Check it out.

if i use this, do all the other users have to use it as well? Like AIM, skype, etc?

No, although it has an app, it can operate over SMS. Long as people respond to the group number it goes out to all members of the group.

yes i had tried that. but didnt work. Might try again

Verizon made an app called Verizon Messages. I tried it although i dont have verizon.it send sms but the mms says just "sending"

I will check gosms again

Any other ideas?

i dont have ATT or any other major provider. I go through a local cell company. They said the network doesnt support group mms. So regardless of my settings, it will always reply back sms.

On to GroupMe.

It seems to be working so far. i had to allow it to verify my phone #, which makes me a bit nervous. It actaully shows a different # when i send a text from it. But so far so good. Thanks guys!
