I'm having a problem. Me and a friend both have the same phone. GS2 Epic, Sprint. In 4.0.4 there seems to be no setting for usb mass storage. I have my phone running a leaked version of JB, but he's trying to update his phone to the official JB update. But he can't get his phone to connect. He used a couple different usb cables, yet it's not connecting. I remember having the same problem, but don't remember what i did to connect my phone. Is there still away to manual set the phone for usb mass storage? Or should he buy another usb cable, and what to look for when buying the right usb cable?

USB mass storage was removed as an option since 4.0.4

Have you tried using a different computer & USB port?

Only have the one computer. did try other ports. The funny thing is, my GS2 and his brothers GN2 both connect using the same cable...

Perhaps it's his phone's USB jack that is the problem.
Does it charge when plugged into the computer/wall charger?

Yeah, it even installs device drivers... But when you look at the phone, the usb icon does pop up so that you can change the settings for mass storage. Maybe reset the phone will fix the issue?

Does Kies read the phone?
The mass storage option was replaced with the options of being a Camera or Media Device.

Turn OFF the wifi. I've noticed that if my wifi is ON, then I cannot connect my device to a computer as a storage device. When I turn the wifi OFF,then my computer recognizes it as a storage device.
