Help GS3 Auto-Sync with Laptop??

I have a question. My wife's GS3 somehow got pictures and videos from her Boss's Laptop at work today. She said it just did it automatically. Can this happen? Does it somehow auto-sync? If she can see his files, does that mean he can see hers too??

I know she gave him her WiFi MAC address so he can add her phone to his password protected network. Is that what did it? How can she prevent this from happening again?

I would imagine if her phone was added to his secure network then all shared files would be visible on all devices on his network including her phone. I don't think that any of her files would show unless they were "shared".

EDIT: With my Dinc, all of the shared folders on all the computers on my network show on my phone, but my phones files do not show on any of the computers, although I can move them to and from any of the computers on the network.
