Help GS3 wifi tries to connect and then "turns off"

The infamous GS3 "will not connect to wifi" BS. 3 months left and im going GS5.

I cannot connect to ANY WIFI. ANY. turn WIFI on, it finds network, connecting, configuring......and then says "turned off". Wifi is still ON but not connected. WTF.

I believe this is a terminal issue with a dying phone, so unless you have fixed this EXACT ISSUE, please no need to "try to help". I habe tried it all but a fresh full wipe. And im not doing that at this point. i have done the *#0011# wifi off power save thing. I habe done apps to fix it. I am well on the road to try and fix this. Please just assist with a KNOWN FIX.

On a wild guess i tried doing something different. I tried turning on airplane mode and then wifi on. It connected right away. I turned off airplane mode after connecting with wifi, and it stays connected. Weird. Gonna see if it is gonna Stay online for an extended period.

Whatever, it gets me connected! Just postong up what I found.
