GSM Active in Airplane Mode?!

Normally, when I go to sleep, I put the phone on Airplane mode, when I wake up, like 1-2% of battery has drained. But now it just goes from 75 to 35%! And, the most battery drain is caused by GSM beiing active - or it looks like if it was just checking if its still in range or something (judging by the image below) RED is active GSM use and GREEN is screen on

-dual sim
-I have also disabled calling over WiFi

Ive also noticed theres another usage bar saying cellular network signal - then whats the difference between this and cell standby?

Cell standby is processing related to the network connection. Cellular network signal is signal strength.

It sounds like it didn't actually go into airplane mode if cellular network signal was non-zero.

If it just happened once there may not need to be a solution: it could just be that you didn't quite hit the icon, or accidentally turned it off again. If it persistently won't enter airplane mode that's a different matter. It's not clear from your post whether this is a one-off or not.
