A GSM version of the Evo 3D is listed here:http://www.mobilecityonline.com/wireless/store/productdetail.asp?productid=27854#section3

AT&T Bands:
3G:850/1900
2G:850 or 1900

HTC Evo 3D GSM Bands:
2G:850, 900, 1800, 1900
3G:900, 1900, 2100

Here is a map of frequency usage in cities by AT&T: Cellular Maps.com-AT&T 850 vs. 1900 MHz Coverage

I live in Florida. I want to know if this phone will be able to use AT&T's 3G because the 1900 Mhz is used by 3G from AT&T, the phone supports it, and the 1900 MHz is all over Florida. Basically, I need to is the same 1900 MHz band used for 2G and 3G or is there one 1900 band for 2G and one 1900 band for 3G. The map didn't make a 2G or 3G distinction for the 1900 band it showed. Also will the phone be able to connect to the 3G as long as there is a 1900 Mhz 3G band covering it's area?

One more thing, is the 1900 MHz 3G band noticably weaker than the 850 3G band? I know the lower the number the more it can penetrate buildings, but I mean if I'm outside there isn't a difference, right?

Thanks.

Welcome to the forums!

The Evo 3D GSM version is being released in Europe, as stated in your link the phone is intended to be sold here as an unlocked import.

As the Evo 3D forum is being primarily visited by Sprint owners (US) and a few others from Europe, I've moved your post here to the AT&T section, with hopes that an AT&T user can adequately answer your questions.

Best luck, please join back in the Evo 3D forum for any other non-carrier questions on this new phone.

I think 1900 Band is the uplink Band and the 850 Band is the downlink bank.

Yes the lower Band in MHz better Wall penetration.
