Hi - new to the forum and I hope someone can help.
My daughter has a Galaxy GT-I5700 (Portal it's called, in these parts) and the screen is misbehaving. When the phone powers up, you can 'slide to unlock' the screen - then it doesn't respond at all.
Just in case it's significant, once or twice I've had use of the screen for a few seconds, then it fails again. But it will always allow 'slide to unlock'.
I've tried a hard reset. It runs on Android 2.1, so there's no update to load (but would re-flashing the firmware be worth a try? anyone having UK instructions?)
Any opinions? Software issue or screen replacement needed? when can I justify telling her off for stuffing it into her jeans pocket all the time? ;-)
Thanks for any help.
