gtalk upgrade to be more like bbm?

i feel like gtalk could be upgraded to include certain features like video sending, picture sending, etc...why doesn't google or anyone else do this? why not make gtalk like bbm so the one thing blackberry users have over android users is gone?

While I am a huge BBM fan, I am a big cross-platform adherent... I think the exclusivity that makes BBM so endearing is also its biggest weakness.

Now, if they could add those features, it is great... but, as pointed out in another thread, is an Android user really missing out on those things with easy access to Gmail?

In any case, the more they add, the more I'd appreciate Gtalk. I just hope they don't try to hard to emulate a competitor. We see how RIM ended up on that quest...

What "BB users have over Android users" is pretty subjective. BBM is quite popular but it's not the only advantage BB has. Personally, I don't miss BBM.
