Gtalk :'(

Okay, so here's the trouble..
i have an unrooted incredible 2 and my gtalk is not working

gtalk is still on my phone, but i can't find the app icon for it anywhere, only when i go to manage applications->all applications can i find it, but i still can not open it!
i know it's installed because i've gotten numerous gtalk im's from people from the notification bar.. but when i pull the bar down and click the gtalk icon to go to the chat, nothing happens...

what do i do?

edit: and there is sufficient memory on my phone left

You can try clearing the app's cache if you already haven't done so. In Manage Applications select Talk and then Clear Cache.

Beyond that, since it's baked into the OS you may need to reset the device to get full functionality back.

Clear the cache / force close it as joggy suggested. If that doesn't work, pull out your battery for 10 secs and then reinsert/reboot.

the cache is greyed out and says 0.00 mb so i can't clear it and pulling out the battery didn't work..
is there no way around a reset? (because i heard of a lot of people doing it and ended up with the same issue unresolved)

Resets are an unfortunate alternative but since you've tried the cache and battery pull I'm afraid that may be the only option at this point.

I can't see why a reset would not correct this problem since the OS will be reloaded and GTalk will be part of that reload.

Maybe someone else will chime in with an alternative to this.

As a side note, I also have a DInc2 and have not had any issues with GTalk.

hth...
