Help "H" icon on HTC Magic

Hi all,

This is my first post and I am having problem with my HTC magic.
I kept having this "H" icon on my top right hand corner and I was told that it was the connectivity using GPRS.
Is this true? Does the "H" icon means that I am using my GPRS and it is payable?
How do I disable this?

It doesn't mean that you use the line, it just means you are connected to a HSDPA line.

If it's an E your on a EDGE line, and G is for GPRS line.

If the up/down arrows next the the H/E/G are lighting up, then you are using the line (datatraffic going up/down).

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.
But if the up/down arrows next the the H/E/G does not lights up, then I am not using the datatraffic?

Hi,

It means that the radio network you are located in that moment is HSDPA capable. If the the arrows are not showing traffic you don't pay anything.

Anyway you can delete all APNs in order to be sure you don;t generate traffic.
