H96 Max Terrarium TV show hijack error.

Hi:

Running H96 Max, 7.1.

Newbie here. Getting hijacked for the first time ever. Never saw this before. I have cleaners that do all of every cache, but to no avail. When I get to a list of servers to play something and choose a server to play from, HD or not, my Terrarium TV displays some show introduction in blue and white,a word in Script writing that scrolls across the screen which I cannot read and then goes into a TV show or movie unknown to me, no title given, and this can only be reverted back to working by cleaning all caches on the box.

I have malware bytes, a cleaner, etc. Nothing says anything is a virus, malware, or anything else, nothing found on scanning. Again, this is new to me, not happening in the past even with no cleaning for weeks. Now it is EVERY time I turn it on. Seems to only be Terrarium TV. All apps say that they are up to date, including Android.

Just wondering what it is and how to get rid of it.

... and how to get rid of it.
Go into your Settings >> Apps menu, find the Terrarium TV app, open it, tap on 'Force stop', then tap on 'Storage', and tap on 'Clear data', then back out and tap on 'Uninstall'.

Note that the Terrarium TV app is of questionable origin so it's not going to be auto-updated by the usual Play Store service, which also makes it your responsibility to maintain it. It's also an app that had to be side-loaded (not a part of Google's Play Store) to install so at that point your H96 Max set top box became just a little less protected, at least as far as its security and privacy measures. If you're lucky, completely removing the app (don't skip that 'clear data' step before using 'uninstall') will help clear up that odd behavior. Restart your H96 Max afterwards too.
But if same problem remains, keep in mind anti-virus/anti-malware utilities can only detect/repair exploits and things that they're designated to find, they are in no way an absolute, end-all/be-all fix for every nasty exploit out there. If you're still having problems after removing that app, and no AV/anti-malware app can fix things, then a Factory Reset is probably your next option. If that doesn't help, the exploit possibly managed to infect the operating system itself, that requires flashing the stock ROM.

OK Thanks so much. This is a lot to do, and I shall do it. I really only wanted to watch the old, original Law and Order with it, and I did not find it in other apps, so this is really an egregious attack. Wow. I will recheck the other apps and, if I see it in there, I shall remove the Terrarium TV completely and forever. Yuck.
