Recently had an issue with the phone and fixed it now. Want to post this in case anyone goes through the same steps and has the same issue.
Recently picked up a Note 4 which I love, great battery life and performance, big screen is a win etc. As I've done previously I decided to root it so I could tinker with the device a bit more, install an ad blocker etc.
The root itself worked fine, as it's done on my previous 2 Android phones, however after installing Xposed installer a few issues came up.
First, it had issues downloading and installing games from the play Store. When it did go okay the download bar would hang for a while, then go to install and hang for a while before finishing. Quite a few times it wouldn't even get that far. Had the same issue sideloading apps too.
Also the performance took a hit. The Note 4 is quite snappy but I noticed random lag when typing or bring up apps and recent apps. Plus there was a few other issues, S Health not working etc.
Anyway I found a fix over on here:

And I can confirm it worked great. Basically you need to edit one of the system files in root and change a value from true to false.
S Health works once again and the performance is back to how it was. No more issues and app downloads and installs are back to working smoothly.
If anyone roots their Note 4 and has issues after installing the Xposed installer give the above a go and it should sort it out. Not sure specifically what it was, maybe a memory access issue, but it fixed it nicely
