Hancom Office Editor

I received a notification that Hancom Office Editor has been updated on my Galaxy S7. I have no idea what Hancom Office Editor is.When I go to SETTINGS | APPS | APPLICATION MANAGER, it shows as an app there. However, when I go to the main menu on my phone and press the APPS icon to bring up all the apps on my phone, it doesn't show on any of the pages as I scroll through them. When I go to Google Play Store and look for it there, it doesn't show up as an installed app on my phone. How do I get rid of it.

Hi there, and welcome to Android Forums!

Hancom Office is a 'free' suite of applications for people who don't have Microsoft Office. Several manufacturers, including Samsung, include it on the phones as a 'featured app'... aka 'bloatware'. Since it's a system application, you can't delete it. You can, however, disable it. That way it won't show up and it won't consume resources.

Go to Settings - - > Apps and tap the 3-dot menu. Select 'Show system apps' and all the bloatware on your phone will show up, as well as your installed apps. Select Hancom and tap DISABLE. It may ask if you want to install the factory version or something like that - tap YES, because that's the way to disable it. Then you can repeat the process for every bloatware app you don't want.

FWIW Hancom is a Korean company, and I think Samsung is basically helping a fellow Korean out by including their product on Galaxy phones, rather than bundling foreign things like Microsoft Office. And I believe LG phones might come with Hancom as well.

Apparently Koreans don't care much for Microsoft.

Although Samsung phones here in China do come with Microsoft, as Hancom doesn't support Chinese.
