Handcent launch/exit delays? Just me?

I've been getting delays when launching and exiting Handcent...not 100% of the time, but much of the time it takes forever (like >6 seconds) to launch or for my home screen to appear after exiting.

Anyone else, or just me?

I'm on a Droid, 2.01, no root or anything...

I've been seeing the same on my Moment for a while and I finally had it today and stopped using handcent.

Dang...I love Handcent...guess I'm going to have to send a note to the developer, sounds like there may be a problem after some of the recent updates...

I'm with pastafarian on this one, only with Droid 2.0.1. Handcent introduced the one thing I never experienced -- overall lag. Uninstalled, incidentally regaining googobs of space, and moved back to SMS Popup.

For those who have 86'd it how are you handling the 160char text limit by Verizon? Seems silly that the phone can't parse SMS into 160char when they exceed that on it's own w/o using an app but that's the main reason I used/use Handcent.

Really like Handcent's features, however the lagging, delays, and slowing down of the phone have become unbearable. I've only had it for a day and I know I can't deal with it. Takes over 10 seconds to open, the phone's been far slower overall since installing it, and when I tried to go back to the native, everything slowed down. Also, my Eris has totally frozen for the first time in the day that I've installed it.

Cool concept, but far, far too buggy on the Eris.

If you guys have any issues with Handcent just head to their site, they have a forum there that the developer checks often, or the also have the contact info if you want to send a personal message. Developer quick to respond and to fix problems.
