Handcent Program/Widget.....Need Help

Ok, so I like the icon and under text of the stock messaging icon. I do not like the handcent icon, nor do I want the.word handcent under there. I know bettercut can change the icon and text, but you can only change the PROGRAM icon, not the widget icon. The reason that this is important is that you cannot get the green bubble message.count with the handcent program, ONLY WITH THE WIDGET, which you cannot edit.
So is there a way to get the green bubble message count on the handcent program, not just the widget. OR, is there a way to have the stock messages icon launch handcent. Sorry I know that was longwinded, any help is greatly appreciated.

Go to handcent menu>custom style>show widget name. You can check/uncheck for display of widget name on you home screen. I can only get unread count on widget only. I use Launcher Pro and can change any icon i want
