HandCent SMS: Receiving a text with every voicemail? Here's a workaround...

Are you receiving a text message from HandCent with every new voicemail? Want to make it stop?

If so, see this workaround from the HandCent forums.


Summary:

I figured out how to do this, make sure popup is enabled, call yourself and leave a voicemail and when the popup comes, type something in the box and hit reply, it will now show up in your list of messages, tap and hold the thread and hit blacklist. no more notifications!! you can turn popup back off after if you prefer.

thank you, this is very helpful. It was very annoying to have duplicate notification. Hopefully Handcent will provide an interface to disable voicemail notification popup in future updates.

That is correct. The steps above simply stop Handcent from sending you an SMS message in addition to the phone's built-in voicemail notification.

didnt work for me but this is an old thread and probably a much older version of handcent
