Handcent SMS removing area code from text messages

I have the Samsung Galaxy S III and I have been having an issue with Handcent SMS for quite awhile. When I select one of my contacts for a text message when I go to send the text it removes the area code and thus I get the error notification that the text could not be sent because the area code is missing. I have the area code set and saved in my contacts for all the contacts in my phone but Handcent removes them. I downloaded Chomp SMS and that works fine. My previous phone was the HTC EVO V 3G and it did it on that as well. Thanks in advance for everyone's help!!

This problem has been reported and they pushed out a fix but this has also messed up many devices. Maybe you can report this to the dev and he or she may see what we been asking and experiencing but as of now its no fix
