I recently installed Handcent SMS, I have turned off all notifications on the stock sms app. My problem is on the lock screen and when charging it will show the number of texts that are showing unread, once I go into the stock sms app and delete/read them the number then goes away, is there a way for that number to not show up?

Do you have an SMS Notifier installed where you have it selected to show the number of unread messages?

I'm presuming you've set the notification settings in Handsent as well as in your stock app?

I use sms popup and have the same issue. Started after update to froyo. This is on the stock icon on home screen. Shows unread message count until that message is opened in stock app. Not a big deal but would be nice to have that cleared when message is checked with third party app.
