Handcent/Stock Messenger/LauncherPro

I am using LauncherPro people widget. Handcent is my default SMS editor. Here's my question/situation:

When I click on my contact and go to the messenger icon it comes up with the stock messenger. Is there a way to make it show handcent instead?

Click it and when you are prompted with the "complete action" screen choose handcent and mark the choice as default in the small check box within the prompt screen. From here on out handcent will be the default app chosen to complete that action unless of course you uninstall it or install a another messaging related app then you will again have to choose a default

Also you should probably do this thru the system default contact list

Thanks I got it to work. I had most of my application working with Handcent as the default but I went into applications and clear stock messenger as default and was able to get it to work.
