handcent-texting

i downloaded handcent yesterday; now, when i orient my droid horizontally (for east of texting), the letters don't show. it sends the text fine, and the words show up in the "bubble" like they are supposed too, i just can't see what i am typing. only happens with the horizantal orientation-vertical works well.
anyone else with this?
