Handcent Update Has Messed Things Up

Hi All

I use Handcent for texting... Anyway It was working sweet for ages, but then I did an update last night for Handcent...

And now my phone seems to be running both Handcent and the default messenger at the same time, whenever I get a text I get two notifications, one for handcent and one for messenger...

Is there a way to permanently disable messenger? Or uninstall it completely Ill never go back to it...

I looked around my phones setting and all I could find is how to turn off the text message sound for messenger...
 
You need your stock messaging app cos Handsent uses that as it's base rather than replaces it.

Sounds like some how the notifications in your stock app have turned back on; that's usually why you get 2 sets of notifications. Go into the stock app settings and check that the notifications are turned off.

If that doesn't work then email the Handcent team to let them know of the bug.
 
It's all over the market reviews that this is a major new bug with the latest update, FYI. I still updated, if only to see if it would give me back my alerts, since it stopped giving me audible and LED alerts. When clicking on it in LPP, it gave me the option to make it default again, so possibly it's a problem if you use the stock launcher.
