hanging up awkard as hell for anybody else?

another thing thats been really pissing me off, when i go to hang up and i bring my phone to my hand from my ear, the screen goes dark and then screen locks and it usually takes so long as i keep trying to tilt the phone to get the screen to come back on again the other person just hangs up...its really akward, especially when im mad at somebody and i try to rage hang up on them, and then its just the sound of me fumbling trying to get the phone to hang up.

i used to love android but starting to get quite annoyed, i think they are excellent value and i would never take an iphone again cus i hate apple on principle, and its way too much for a phone imo especially when u can get better specs at half the price with an android and i hate how apple intentionally release patches to make older devices unusable to force people to upgrade (stealth patches that cause random UI animation loops) , but buggy crap like this really piss me off put up with it on my nexus 4, galaxy s3, and now this :(

btw how are windows phones these days? i feel like if windows could get its shit together, that would be THE phone. then the hipsters would keep using iphones, the people who wanted to be different but didn't want to spend a lot would use, and everybody else could be happy with super smooth and fast and reliable and useful windows phones, just like with desktops and laptops :D

I think I've had the screen go dark when I want to hang up, too but I just hit the power button and it lights up again.

Where I have problems is when I fumble taking the phone out of my pocket when an alarm goes off: the cancel button disappears entirely and I end up messing around for what feels like half an hour trying to find a way to turn the damn thing off - and all the time, it's getting progressively louder and louder.

Three guys I work with had Windows phones. They seem relatively happy with them: two of them stuck with WP when they upgraded but the third decided to go for the not-quite-so-hideously-expensive-but-SO-the-year-before-last iPhone instead. I'm sure WP is fine, though if you're into apps, there won't be the same degree of choice.

Wish I could tell you about Windows Phone, but even the flagship Microsoft Store has stopped selling Windows Phone devices here, and now just sells Surface and Xbox. A few months ago I did consider getting one, just to be different to anyone else. Can tell lots about iPhone, I see plenty of them. :thumbsupdroid:

BTW can't really comment much about Nexus either, having never seen one. I have an Oppo, and it's certainly not doing anything like the OP is describing.

Take off your screen protector that's most likely your issue. I had the same issue.
I had a similar issue with my wife's Amazon Fire Phone. Turns out the glass screen protector didn't have the proper cutouts and it messed with the proximity sensor.

i dont have any screen protector on or case, but i ended up going to the accessibility options and just having it use power button to hang up - i think i had issues like this on my nexus 4 too before i flashed CM, im still on stock nexus rom atm cus have been doing other stuff and havnt tried another rom yet, also i am on google fi and i hear "pure nexus" is the only custom rom that works with fi so im gonna try it later.
