Hangouts app question

On my Samsung Galaxy S6, it shows the Hangouts app in my Application Manager, but there is no icon anywhere to actually OPEN it and use it! I thought I would uninstall it and reinstall it, but I can't uninstall it, either. It's evidently something Samsung installed..... I can only "Force Stop" or "Disable" it. I do want to try using it, but can't figure out HOW.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try checking if there is a "Google" folder. Sometimes with new phones, the Google apps will all be in one folder and not separate in the app drawer. I just got a new phone and didn't realize this

Idk, I had it enabled and it was in my app drawer. Then I disabled it to see and it was gone from my app drawer... And then when I enabled it back, the icon came back.... So I'm not sure.

When you disable an app, it unistalls the updates and it disappears from your app drawer. It wouldn't make sense to disable it and still have it in your app drawer. Once you enable it you will need to go to the play store and reinstall the updates.

Back to the OP. If you cannot find the icon in your app drawer, you can look up the Hangouts app in the Play Store and try to open it from there.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did find it in my Google folder. Strangely, I "disabled" it yesterday, but today it appears to be enabled! Oh well, at least I know where to look now. Thanks again.
