Hangouts camera picture too dark

hi,

my nexus5's hangout video camera is very crappy now. this happened after the lollipop update. the main video camera in the back is very dark, while the front facing camera is ok.

any settings i could change to make the video camera in hangout decent?

Is this an issue only when using hangouts or is this an issue when using your camera app as well?
