Root Hard Reset after Root (Boost Mobile)

Is is safe to hard reset a Boost Mobile (no recovery) rooted LG stylo 5.1.1?

I remeber having to go into recovery to reset phone but Boost variant doesn't have recovery.

I want to do this because in my Settings-Storage-miscellaneous-(system data) is too large and keeps growing (4.69 gb right now) I cant find what to delete to clear this.

well if you keep installing new Apps, Downloading stuff from the net, moving things from PC to Phone and so on, yes you Storage will keep growing....
