Help Has Android crippled auto-answer?

I had a Huawei phone with an older Android version (5 I think) and it would support Auto Answer. But it was a very slow phone that was useless with Maps.

So I bought a Moto G 5, with Android 7.0 and have realised that it will not auto answer phone calls, even with an app that used to work great on the Huawei. I was told on a forum that only the US versions of the Moto G 5 had a compass sensor and auto-answer.

After being assured by the vendor (who actually spent some time trying to find out) that the Nokia 5 DID support Auto answer I bought one with Android 7.1.2.....the same auto answer that worked on the Huawei does not work.

So yeah, have later versions of Android stopped AA? If so, Why:(? Could rooting a phone get around this?

Any help appreciated.....no....GREATLY appreciated! Auto Answer is important to me and I am now out about $500 for no result.

Well Nick if you can locate your device Engineering Mode code you can enable Auto Answer from that setting if it's not available on none of your devices visible apps.
