Has anyone rooted a G5+ lately?

I just found out pokemon go is stopping support for 32 bit phones. I believe the G5+ has 32 bit software but has the capability of using 64 bit. Any advice? I would need to root and install a 64 bit rom, I guess? thanks

Don't know about 64bit custom ROMs for this phone. But I know we've had reports on AF about Pokemon Go not running on rooted devices.

You cannot install a arm64 GSI unfortunately mainly because a lot of the drivers are running under 32-bit and running them in 64-bit code will not work.
