Has Anyone Taken a Droid Class at a Verizon Store?

I was wondering if anyone has taken a free class at their local Verizon Store for the droid. My Verizon store says it has classes for smartphones and now have developed one for the Droid..It's about an hour and shows the basics.. Thanks...

Do they charge for it? It seems that you would be better off learning the basics from forums and such. People here are more than happy to answer any questions you might have. The only reason I suggest that is because - in my experience - Verizon techs and employees are not really as knowledgeable as they like you to think. You can pick up most of the basics of the phone by asking questions here and just playing with it yourself.

Just my recommendation.

I took a couple classes here in the PHx area. There is no charge and the classes are for 1 to 3 people per group. Its kind of a listen in and you get a turn type of thing. They do the training an hour before opening on certain days maybe twice a week. Really the more you F with the phone the easlier it gets. Billy

Sorry, didn't realize you had said "free" right in your post. /facepalm

If it's free, I don't see why not. Give it a shot, nothing to lose.

I think there are a lot of people who could benefit from such classes. But I think that anyone hanging around forums like this one is well beyond anything these classes would offer. Since it's for free though, I wouldn't discourage anyone from attending if they have an interest.

They offered me the class when I bought my phone. However, I've got a degree in computers and I've discovered exploring new toys is half the fun. I've used the Internet a lot to figure out some of the features. In fact, that's how I found this forum.
