Has this question even stumped the hackers too?

Does anyone know how to edit or remove services that are displayed when the "share" option is selected in the Android OS? For example, when viewing a web page, I decide I want to share it. I select the "share" option and a list of sharing options appears prompting me to "select an action". Included in the list are Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Twidroid, etc.

I am rooted running Bugless Beast 7.4. How do I access the list of sharing options in order to shorten it by removing services I don't use such as Delicious or Twitter?

I asked this yesterday and nobody has answered it. Come on guys, help a brother out!

Your help is highly appreciated, thank you in advance.

Since you are rooted, remove the apps you don't use and they should be gone from the list.

Also try not to post twice.

As far as I have seen, the phone automatically adds to the list when the program is loaded. So to remove it you either have to write a new rom(modify existing) or remove/deactivate the app all together. Let me know if you find something different.

I don't have a Delicious app. It shows up as @Delicious. I also get @Twitter, @Facebook and @Twitter. After those 3 are listed, I get the installed apps such as Handcent and Twidroid. How do I remove the @Delicious, @Twitter and @Facebook if they aren't installed apps? I can't simply uninstall them.

Maybe someone else that has your rom can provide assistance. My Fresh rom removed various apps and those that were removed didn't show up.

They come with some of the OS's. What phone do you have samiusmic?

They are in there so that you can share through these channels. It is a out of the box thing that likes to be used as a bragging point. I cannot find a way to get rid of the stock choices. They are written into the apps code to show up in the share menu. You can only have control over the ones that 3rd party app installed. You can't remove them without rotting and installing a Rom without them in there. That is one of the reasons that people started rooting in the first place, to get rid of the pre-installed garbage.

I am rooted. I'm running Bugless Beast 7.4. I want to get rid of @Delicious, @Twitter and @Facebook. Those aren't really apps. When they are selected, they are more like browser bookmarks that take you to the respective site chosen. Do you know of any way to do so?

I am sorry I wasn't clearer. They are baked into the OS from Motorola and Android. In order to get rid of them the Rom Dev has to remove these options. So you could put in a request to the Dev to remove these. They are just a part of the whole stay connected thing. They are put in there to make your life easier, but I agree they do clutter up the selection. I have about ten choices.

If you can find a Rom without the Twitter app built in that selection will be gone. Granted Deli.coius is not an app it is a social networking tool and that is what these manufactures are trying to please us with. But it can be removed by the Dev that cooks your rom, just ask him to.
