Has this SSD died?

So my friend's SSD seems to have died. AFAIK he didn't do any updating to the bios or anything and he went to turn the pc on and it wouldnt load windows off the ssd. It's not recognised in the bios either.

About a year old SanDisk pulse with a gigabyte ds3h z77 board.

Any help trying to get it fixed would be great.

Ok, before you guys fully panic, I'd suggest you unhook and re-seat the drive in its connector, and maybe blow both the drive-end and the cable-end of the connector out with a quick puff of compressed air. It may be that the drive is fine but the connection went wonky.

He checked it and it seemed fine. Thankfully SanDisk were really nice (probably because of the known fault of sandforce controller ssds dying) and they upgraded him to the Ultra Plus - with a nice marvell controller :D

That's why I always tell people to spend the extra few bucks to buy SanDisk. They're good people to work with when you have a problem.

The funy thing is we went with SanDisk to save a few bucks. Looks like it worked out well!
