Have a Moto Droid - Time to update - Choices?

Hello everyone, so I've been hanging around the forums for a while now but don't post often. Anyway I have a Motorola Droid a855 that I've been using for a little over a year and I like it alot, in fact I just flashed a custom ROM on it and am enjoying the phone all over again.

However, I think I'm ready to upgrade a few notches. Firstly, I NEVER use the slide out keyboard and it makes the phone a tad bulky.

I'm having a hard time picking out a new phone. When I say new, I mean new to me. I plan to pick up a used one probably from Ebay that I will activate on PagePlus, so it has to be a verizon phone. I'm looking to spend around or under $100.

My wife just picked up a used HTC Incredible for $80 and I like that but not sure if it's what I want.

Here's what I know - I need to be able to carry it in a hip case (horizontally). I don't want a physical keyboard. I like the weather and clock on my wife's Incredible and overall the phone seems nice. I also was looking at the Samsung fascinate which has an optional Dock which appeals to me because I Dock my Moto Droid and use it as an Alarm clock. The Incredible isn't able to do this.

Are there any other phones I should be looking at? Is the Fascinate going to be too big for a hip case? I just don't know....help me! I need opinions!

Oh, the phone will be rooted and probably have a custom ROM flashed on it, or at least an upgrade to Gingerbread.

Hmm, interesting...are you able to use the phone as a clock though? we tried using an app to keep the screen on with my Wife's incredible and the thing got pretty warm.

Yep. I like Kaloer clock app in the play store. It sure beats the stock HTC clock. It's pretty customizable. Mine doesn't get hot.

Well I think I'm going to go ahead with the Incredible...also found another clock app called night clock that works pretty good. Kaloer clock kept my wife's screen on even when the app wasn't running.

I have the Bionic, so far pretty good. I do carry it on my hip (horizontally) & in my pocket, I do have the media dock & use it as my alarm clock, I do get weather & news. I also use it as for internet music & GPS, when I drive. I would recommend waiting a bit since VZW is starting to push out ICS on most of its 4G phones & I would also recommend an extended battery.
