Have to upgrade.....suggestions?

Alright so long story short, my girlfriend accidentally washed my D2G. Therefore I need to replace my droid. I plan on going to a 4G phone even though coverage isn't offered in my area yet (Probably 1.5-2 years away). I will at least have it when I travel to the Denver Metro area and be grandfathered in. So opinions on the VW 4G capable phones. Also if there is a great phone that is coming out in the next month or so I might be willing to wait for my upgrade if it is better than what is available.

Thanks for your time!

As of right now the options are the Thunderbolt, Droid Charge or Revolution. I owned the Thunderbolt and was not very happy with it. A piece of plastic is wedged in between the glass from the display and the bottom of the phone that causes light to leak all around the bottom edge of the display around the buttons. This caused dust to get under the glass. The battery life was very bad and would last 12 hours if I was lucky. It was usually 6-8 hours of medium usage till it died. The current software the phone runs has a rebooting issue that causes the phone to reboot a lot. This is only the most recent update so if you buy one you might still be running the old software.

I currently own a Droid Charge and its very nice. It uses the new Samsung amoled+ displays and they are amazing. The camera is very good and the phone supports 1080p hdmi out mirroring. Battery life has not been a problem. It gets me through the day and possibly even 2. I got my Charge a few weeks before it went on sale and it has been the best and most reliable phone I have ever used.

I have not used the Revolution or seen it but I really don't why someone would want it over either of the other 2. It comes with bing apps preinstalled. You can download all the google stuff from the market but the defaults will be bing. The phone could have been nice but with the other 2 phones being on the market I just don't see it selling well.

The only other phone thats really known about is the Droid Bionic and its having some issues. It could make it out in a month or 2 or it could be later in the year. So if you are looking to get something soon those would be the 3 to look at.

Thanks for the in-depth reply. I am primarily considering the Charge. The Bionic sounds great with a dual core processor. But delays seem to be that phones Achilles heel. And odds are it will be released after data plan changes. Look forward to hearing some other opinions.

I have a bolt and I like it. I haven't experienced all the problems that others have. The Charge is still the phone I'd recommend. I feel lucky to have a bolt that works, not everyone has been so lucky. Since you live in a 3G area you won't have to worry about the battery life on either phone.

Went ahead and ordered my Charge today. Didn't see any promo pricing for it. Looking forward to messing around with it. Again thanks for the advice.

Cheers,
