Having problems unlocking Droid 2 Global

I am a novice, and I spent the last 3 days trying to research how to unlock band my new Droid 2 Global. I got the phone to reboot twice but on the third boot it game me a pic of a droid with exclamation point inside. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

that's android recovery, press both volume buttons at same time, to continue
then wipe cache and/or data
volume buttons to scroll, power to select
